Victoria

With over 20 years of experience as a holistic therapist, I have dedicated my career to the fields of mental health, condition management, and personal development. Working with a wide range of needs, through various settings, including mental health hospitals, corporate environments, and my private practice, where I also received NHS-funded referrals.

I'm committed to blending traditional holistic principles that have stood the test of time with contemporary methods to promote health, wellbeing, and personal growth. My work is driven by a deep passion for life and a profound connection to the natural world.

My Story

My search for knowledge has led me to learn more from ancient and indigenous cultures about how their connection with nature supports their health and happiness. This journey took me onto training with some renowned teachers and elders in the UK, Peru, North America and India, all of whom I am immensely grateful to, Their influence has supported my capacity to support others in their own unique lives.

I am still and always will be learning through my own journey of self discovery as well as from the people of all ages, around me.  I pride myself on keeping things down to earth and light hearted. Combining the ancient wisdom of indigenous cultures with contemporary science and therapeutic approaches to provide fun, engaging and creative experiences.

Throughout my career, I have continually expanded my knowledge and experience in environmental stewardship, sustainable living, and nature connection principles. These passions have seamlessly integrated with my holistic approach to health and personal development.

Always keen to balance ancient with contemporary I studied Permaculture Design, this deepened my understanding of environmental impact and gave me the tools to help make more of a difference on a practical level. I incorporate the ethics of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares into all that I do.

Over the last few of years, alongside home educating my son I have also been training in Wilderness Therapy and becoming a Celebrant, supporting me in bringing more of the sacred to our lives through the natural world and developing  further the therapeutic services I offer to younger and more vulnerable people. Bringing bush-craft skills and a trauma informed approach to what I offer.

Hi, I’m Sarah-Jane but most people call me SJ. I’m a qualified Integrative Counsellor (MBACP) and Director of Connected in Nature CIC. My work focuses on supporting both adults and children, although at present my Walk & Talk sessions are for adults only. In time, I hope to explore ways of offering this approach to children and young people too.

My Story

Alongside my work with Connected in Nature, I currently work as a children and young people’s therapist at My Sisters Place, a domestic violence charity in Middlesbrough. I’ve also supported people through grief and loss in previous counselling roles, as well as general counselling and have experience of working with neurodiverse clients. These experiences have enhanced my understanding of trauma and strengthened my belief in the healing power of being seen, heard and held with compassion.

I’m a trauma-informed practitioner and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). At the heart of my approach is a person-centred ethos yet I also draw on other therapeutic approaches, including creative and body-based work, always tailored to your needs.

As a mum of two, I am someone who finds comfort and healing in the natural world for me and my family. Whether it's walking under the canopy of trees, stargazing, or hunting the Aurora, the Northern Lights, I’m continually inspired by the magic and mystery of nature and our universe. Travelling in the newest addition to our family, Rhonda, our old VW campervan, has become a new way to explore wild places as a family and reconnect with the world around us.

Walk & Talk therapy offers a gentle, grounding alternative to traditional room-based counselling. Walking side by side in nature can ease the pressure of sitting face-to-face and often helps people feel more open and at ease. There’s no pressure to talk the whole time, sometimes silence, breath, and noticing the world around us is just as powerful.

I feel incredibly privileged to be part of Connected in Nature CIC, a project close to my heart. I’m excited about the ways we can bring people together, reconnect with the outdoors, and offer meaningful, healing spaces through both therapy and community events.

I look forward to meeting you, whether for Walk & Talk therapy or at one of our nurturing gatherings in nature.

Helen

As a trauma-informed integrative counsellor, I believe that everyone has the potential to heal, grow in self-awareness, and evolve into the person they aspire to be. Nature offers us endless opportunities for growth. It can be a powerful catalyst, gently guiding us toward deeper, more meaningful connections with the earth and ourselves.

I hold a deep respect for our natural environment. It asks for nothing yet continuously gives, offering beauty, space, and the quiet strength to hold us when we need it most.

My Story

Through Connected In Nature, I combine my love of the outdoors with a deep commitment to mindful, present-moment living. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within their ethical framework, upholding core values and principles that create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space for each individual.

Whether it's a walk and talk, a silent forest stroll or an intimate woodland one-to-one therapy session, I aim to meet you exactly where you are, holding space for your authentic self to emerge and be heard.

As a trauma-informed practitioner with lived experience, I offer specialised support for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. I understand the nuanced dynamics and barriers that can arise in these contexts. I provide a compassionate, pressure-free space to support healing on your terms and in your time.

My approach is rooted in presence, connection, and embodied awareness. I draw inspiration from my personal interests, which include walking and hiking, cold water swimming, paddleboarding, weight training, running, pilates, yoga, forest bathing, sound bathing, foraging, vegetarian cooking, mindfulness, meditation, and continuous self-inquiry.

With a calming and grounded presence, I invite you to reconnect to yourself, to nature, and to the ancestral wisdom that lives within all of us. As we journey together, my intention is for you to feel safe, supported, and wholly connected - in mind, body, and spirit.
