Seasonal Celebrations Days
for all ages

What to expect..

We begin at the Broompark Picnic Area, and after a gentle welcome and chance to brush off the "road dust," we walk together, past hedgerows and along the lane, toward a magical hidden space where the hearth fire awaits.

(The walk is just under a mile long on a level, gravel service, with a few steps/ramp up to Abundant Earth).

Each Seasonal Celebration follows a gentle and welcoming rhythm and can include:

🌿 Mindful arrival & nature connection
🚶‍♂️Themed walk - eg flora and fauna ID

🧙 Seasonal plant lore & storytelling

🎨 Creative, therapeutic activities for all ages

🔥 Circle time by the fire—sharing, singing, reflecting

🪕 Live music and community song

🌳 Space to rest, journal or just be beneath the sky

👩‍🌾 Opportunities to learn about the land project at Abundant Earth, explore food growing and wild foraging.

Some find a quiet spot beneath a tree, others share songs or stories passed down through generations or newly made.

Children craft, play, explore. Adults learn skills and share wisdom.

Everyone is welcome to join in, or to sit back, listen, and soak it all in.

Thanks to National Lottery players, this summer 2026 see the beginning of two-year journey of seasonal gatherings rooted in nature, creativity, folklore, community and connection, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

We know that cost can be a barrier for many families and individuals, so this funding means we can offer free and affordable places, develop volunteering opportunities and create a programme that we hope will continue to grow beyond the initial two years.

The project has been shaped by feedback from local families, community members and professionals. Previous participants have described the gatherings as a unique combination of history, folklore, outdoor learning and nature-based activities, while children have reported feeling happier and calmer after taking part.

This late summer gathering is celebrated with a gathering in of the harvest, as we celebrate the warm rays of the sun and all it has supported to grow.
